Questions parents ask
What are good free game websites for preschoolers?
Tiny Players is a free game website made for children aged 4 to 10, and this page gathers the games for preschoolers aged 4 to 5. Every one starts with a single tap, needs no reading, and is kind in tone: try Balloon Pop, Memory Match, Count the Fish, Colouring, Dino Dig or Car Wash. There is no sign-up, no chat, no pop-ups and nothing to buy, and the games work on a phone, tablet or computer.
Can my 4-year-old play these on their own?
Yes โ that is the point. Every pre-K game explains itself with pictures, works with a single tap or drag, and has no reading, no timers and no pop-ups. Most parents sit with a child for the first go, then let them carry on.
Do the games work on an iPad or phone?
Yes. They run in the browser on any phone, tablet or laptop with nothing to install. Touch is the main way to play at this age; there is nothing that needs a keyboard.
Is there anything to pay for, or any pop-ups?
No. There are no pop-ups, no in-game purchases, no chat and no accounts. See the page for parents for the full list of what we don't do.
How long should a 4-year-old play?
Most of these games take two to five minutes a round, which suits short attention spans. A common rule of thumb for this age is 20โ30 minutes at a time; the games are easy to stop because nothing is "lost" by closing the tab.
About these games
What they practise and where to go next
โบ
These are our games for the youngest players โ roughly four to five years old, the year before school. Everything here works with one finger: tap, drag, or trace. There is no reading needed to play (the games show what to do), no timers that punish slow hands, and nothing to buy or sign up for.
A child this age is learning through play: naming colours and shapes, counting small groups, hearing the first sound in a word, and building the hand control that turns into writing. The games below practise exactly those things, and the creative ones โ colouring, stickers, building โ are there for the days when a child just wants to make something.
What they practise
- Colours, shapes and sizes (bigger/smaller, same/different)
- Counting to 10 and simple "big or small"
- Letter sounds and the alphabet in order
- Pencil control: tracing lines, shapes, letters and numbers
- Following a short sequence (patterns)
- Creativity: drawing, stickers, dress-up, building
