About these games
Our picks and what they practise
βΊ
Every two-player game on Tiny Players is played on the same device β a tablet on the table, a laptop between two chairs. There is no online multiplayer and no chat, which is the point for a kids' site: the other player is a sibling, a friend or a parent, not a stranger. The split-screen arcade games (Paddle Ball, Air Hockey, Bumper Boats) use touch halves or two sets of keys; the board games (Four in a Row, Checkers, Snakes & Ladders) pass the turn.
The duels are the quick ones for a car journey: Bumper Boats and Maths Duel β quick rounds, best of five. Most also work against the computer when there is no one to play.
Our picks
Paddle Ball β bounce the ball back and forth, side by side
Air Hockey β smack the puck into the other goal
Bumper Boats β squirt water at the pinwheel β first to 6 splashes wins, side by side
Four in a Row β drop discs, line up four; pass the tablet
What they practise
- Taking turns and playing fair
- Winning and losing with a sibling next to you
- Reaction time and rhythm in the duels
- Strategy in the board games
- Quick maths and words under friendly pressure

Questions parents ask
4 quick answers
βΊ
Is there online multiplayer?
No, by design. All two-player games are on one screen, so the other player is someone in the room.
How do two people control one tablet?
Arcade games split the screen into halves (top/bottom or left/right); board games pass the turn. On a computer, one player uses WASD and the other the arrow keys.
Can I play against the computer instead?
Yes β nearly every game has a computer opponent for when no one else is around.
Is there anything to buy?
No β no pop-ups, no sign-up and nothing to buy.
