How to play
Drag a shape from the tray into the animal's shadow.
Tap a shape to turn it until it fits (from Level 3).
A shape in the wrong spot slides back to the tray: just try again.
Fill the whole shadow and your animal wakes up and hops home.
Tangram Zoo is a tangram puzzle game for young children, with Red Panda as a cheerful zookeeper in a green neckerchief. A tangram is the old puzzle of seven shapes: two big triangles, a middle one, two small ones, a square and a slanted parallelogram. Each puzzle shows an animal's shadow on a board, and you drag the glossy candy-coloured shapes from the tray into it. A shape that fits clicks into place with a sparkle; one in the wrong spot simply slides back to the tray, so nothing is ever lost and there is no clock. When every shape is in, the flat picture wakes up as a cute toy animal, says hello and hops off into its little zoo home: a fish into its pond, a cat into its basket, a rabbit into its hutch. Ten levels each bring one new idea: three big shapes with the lines drawn inside the shadow, then four shapes, tapping a shape to turn it, flipping the slanted shape over, five shapes with the lines fading away, all seven shapes, only half the lines, the shadow alone, tricky animals with ears, legs and tails sticking out, and a big finale where the whole zoo comes to wave. The levels travel from a sunny zoo gate to a bamboo garden pond and a seaside aquarium. If you get stuck, wait a moment and the right spot glows. After each level there is a Build Time round to make anything you like with all seven shapes, a true fact about tangrams or red pandas, and a new hat for Red Panda to wear, from a sailor hat and a crown to a chef's hat and a star hat.
