Fruit Catcher is a simple catching game for young children, starring a cuddly wombat with a wicker basket in a sunny bush orchard. Apples, bananas, oranges, strawberries, grapes, pears and peaches pop out of the trees, give a little wiggle and fall; slide your catcher underneath to catch them. Each fruit's shadow on the path shows where it will land, which helps small children judge the spot. A golden star is worth five and mends a lost heart, but watch out for the grumpy rain cloud: it soaks your catcher and costs a heart, and so does fruit that hits the ground. Nothing is lost in the first ten seconds, the first fruit fall close by, and soon two fruit fall at a time, still slowly, so there is always something to catch. It trains hand-eye coordination and tracking a moving object. Every 25 fruit clears a stage: play pauses for a cheer, you win the next prize, and the orchard fades into a new place: a sunny seaside, a snowy village, a candy garden and a starry night garden. The prizes are five friends who can do the catching instead, each with its own happy little sound (a koala, a kangaroo who catches in her pouch, a quokka, an echidna and a platypus), and hats for them to wear, from a cap to a golden crown. Every friend catches exactly the same, so choosing one is just for fun. There are no pop-ups and nothing to buy.
