Tic-Tac-Toe (noughts and crosses) is the first strategy game most children learn. Here you play with cute animal counters instead of X and O: you are the koala, and your friend is a cuddly panda who sits beside the board, thinks with a paw on her chin, and claps when you win. Tap a square to put down your counter; get three in a row across, down or corner to corner to win. If the board fills up with no winner, it is a draw, and a draw gets hearts and a cheer too. The panda starts out very easy to beat and learns a little more each stage, so young players win their first games and older ones still get a challenge. Each stage is a round of three games: win or draw one of them and the stage is clear. Play stops for a big 'Stage clear!' cheer, you win a new friend to play as, and the board moves on to a new place: a picnic, the beach, a snow day, candy land and a night picnic with fireflies. Every stage you clear wins the next friend, from a wombat and a kangaroo to a golden koala; pick them from Friends after a round. You can also choose 2 players to play a friend on the same screen. It teaches thinking one move ahead, blocking, and that a draw is a fine way to finish. It works with touch, a mouse or the keyboard, and scores are kept on your own device.
