How to play

Look at the sum. Count the dots if you like.

Tap the right answer, or press 1, 2 or 3.

A right answer makes your balloon hop up a step.

Reach the star on the cloud before Wombat to win the race.

Win a race to move to a new place and win new balloons.

TipCounting the dots under each number is a great way to add them up. For taking away, count the dots that are not crossed out. A wrong tap only makes your basket wobble, so take your time and try again. Wombat thinks slowly at first, then gets a bit quicker each race. Every race you win gives you new balloons to pick after the game. Choose 2 players to race a friend on one screen: on a phone each player gets their own half, and on a computer player 2 uses 8, 9 and 0.

Maths Duel is a balloon race powered by sums. Koala and friendly Wombat each float in a basket under a bunch of party balloons. A sum pops up with three big answers, and whoever picks the right one first hops a step up the sky. A wrong answer is just a little wobble, with no points lost, so you can try again. The first to reach the star on the fluffy cloud wins the race. Little players start with adding up to 5 with dots to count, then adding up to 10, taking away, bigger sums up to 20 and the 2, 5 and 10 times tables. Every race you win takes you to a new place, from the park to the beach, candy land, a snow day and a starry night, and wins a new set of balloons. You can race a friend on one screen too.
