How to play

1

Look at the picture: it shows the word.

2

Find the gap in the word, then tap the letter on the counter that fits it. You can also type it, or press 1โ€“4.

3

A wrong letter just wiggles. Stuck? Tap the picture and the right letter glows.

4

Finish all the words in a stage to visit a new stall and win new letter tiles.

TipSay the word out loud slowly, stretching each sound, and listen for the sound where the gap is. Words finished on the first tap earn two stars.

Missing Letter is a gentle first-reading game. A picture sits on the wall of a little stall, a cat, a bus or a frog, and under it the word is spelled in chunky letter tiles with one gap. Three big letters wait on the counter: tap the one that fits and it flies into its place while the joey cheers. A wrong tap only makes a tile wiggle, and the right one soon starts to glow, so every word gets finished. The first words are short, like c-a-t, and the missing letter shows faintly in its gap, so children who can't read yet can match its shape. Later words get longer and the choices trickier. Every cleared stage moves the stall somewhere new and wins a new set of letter tiles.
