How to play
Look at the pictures to see which words are hidden.
Drag across a word from its first letter to its last. Or tap the first letter, then the last.
Found words turn your pen colour and get a tick.
Find every word, then do one more puzzle to clear the stage.
Each stage you clear wins a new pen and takes you to a new place.
Word Search is a picture word hunt with Wombat, a little word detective with a yellow cap and a big magnifying glass. Every word has its own picture, like a cat, an apple or a rocket, so children who are only starting to read can match the shapes of the letters. Drag across a word, or tap its first letter and then its last. A found word is painted in your pen colour, its letters dance, its picture flies to its card and Wombat cheers. The first puzzles are tiny grids of 5 by 5 with three short words going across or down. Each stage is two puzzles in one place. Finish them and the stage is clear: stars, confetti and a new pen, then you travel straight on to the next place: a farm, a picnic park, under the sea, snowy hills and space. The grids grow a little as you go, with more words, then words that run on a slant or cross, and later even backwards. If a word is hard to find, tap its picture and its first letter glows. Every stage you clear wins a new pen: sky blue, mint, bubblegum, rainbow and glitter gold. It suits ages four to ten: little ones match letters to pictures, and older players race for three stars on the bigger grids. Scores are kept on your own device.
