How to play
Tap on the side you want the snake to go, swipe, or use the arrow keys.
Eat the red apples to grow and score. A golden apple is worth 3.
Don't bump into the stones or your own tail. Each bump costs a heart.
Every stage you clear wins a new hat or skin for your snake.
Snake is the arcade classic every parent remembers from a Nokia phone, redrawn for kids as a cheerful carpet python in a flower garden. You steer the snake around the lawn eating apples; every apple makes it longer, and the longer it gets, the harder it is to avoid the stones at the edge and your own tail. It is one of the best first "real" games for a five- to seven-year-old because the rule fits in one sentence and the skill, planning your path a few moves ahead, grows with practice. The lawn fits your screen, wide on a computer and tall on a phone. It starts slow with three hearts, so a bump just makes the snake dizzy for a moment before it wriggles off again, and stays slow for the first two stages before it speeds up a little. Tap where you want the snake to go, swipe, or use the arrow keys. Every 15 apples you reach a new place, from the garden to the beach and beyond, and each stage you clear wins a new hat or skin, from a cap to a golden crown. There is no timer and nothing to buy.
