About this sheet

Five pictures down the left side and five down the right, with a dot beside each. Children say the words out loud and draw a line to join the pairs that rhyme: cat goes with hat, frog with dog, bee with tree, star with car and cake with snake. Rhyming helps children hear the sounds inside words, which makes reading and spelling easier later, and it suits ages 5โ€“7. Say each pair slowly and listen for the matching ending together. For a bonus round, think of another word that rhymes with each pair, even silly made-up ones. Then color the pictures. Print on plain A4 and use a pencil or crayon. On screen, the Rhyme Time game has Galah reading the words aloud as children pick the rhyme.
