Phonics Blend is a first reading game about blending sounds into words. Three chunky letter blocks sit in Quokka's speech bubble. Tap them one by one and Quokka says each sound, then the blocks slide together while a gold arrow sweeps underneath and the word is said. Tap the matching picture and it flies up beside the word and pops alive. The first words are short, clear ones like cat, dog and sun, with just two pictures to pick from. Later the blocks sound out by themselves and you blend the word on your own, then you build words from a tray of letter blocks. The letters are always on screen, so it works with the sound off too. A wrong tap only wiggles, and every cleared stage visits a new place and wins new letter blocks.
