How to play

1

Tap Koala's basket (or the mat) and a block hops out. Keep tapping until the blocks reach the end of the caterpillar.

2

Count the blocks and tap the number bubble.

3

Which is longer? Which is shorter? Tap the right one.

4

Read the ruler: start at 0 and find the number at the end. If the ruler is in the wrong place, tap it first.

5

Clear a stage to visit a new place and win a new ruler. Pick your ruler after a round.

TipAlways start measuring at the start line, or at the 0 on a ruler. Units must touch with no gaps and no overlaps, so lining blocks up neatly gives the right answer. To compare two things, line up their starts: the one that sticks out further is longer. A centimetre is about as wide as a child's fingertip. Try measuring a pencil or a spoon at home with paper clips or toy blocks!

Measure It teaches young children how measuring works, step by step. A cute caterpillar, crayon or train lies on a mat next to a green start line. Tap Koala's basket and smiling blocks hop out and line up underneath, counting as they land, until they reach the end: three blocks long! Next, the blocks are already lined up and children count them and tap the number. Then they compare two things to find the longer or shorter one, and measure with paper clips instead of blocks. Last comes a centimetre ruler. The 0 glows to show that measuring starts at zero, and later the ruler sits in the wrong place until a tap slides its 0 to the start. Each stage visits a new place and wins a new ruler.
