Addition games for kids

No sign-up Β· made for kids 4–10

Adding starts with putting two groups together and grows into quick facts. These free games go in that order: fill in a number bond with counters to match, count the dots on dominoes, then race a kart or a balloon by answering sums. Every game starts small, with sums to 5 or 10, and grows as your child gets them right. They play in the browser with no sign-up, no ads and nothing to buy.

About these games

Our picks and what they practise

Number Bonds shows the whole and its two parts side by side, with a tray of cute counters, so children see why 3 and 2 make 5 before they remember it. Maths Duel starts little players with adding up to 5, and Math Race starts every child with sums to 10, moves up to 20 and then 100 after two wins, and steps back down if a child needs more practice.

Speed comes last. Let children count on their fingers or the counters at first; quick recall grows from lots of short, happy practice, and a wrong answer just means another try.

4 quick answers

What are good free addition games for kids?

Number Bonds, Maths Duel, Math Race, Dominoes and Coin Counter on Tiny Players are free addition games for kindergarten to 2nd grade. They start with sums to 5 or 10, use counters and dots for early learners, and play in the browser with no sign-up, no ads and nothing to buy.

How do kids learn addition facts?

First by counting real things, then with number bonds that show how numbers split and join, and finally with lots of short practice until the facts come quickly. These games follow that path: counters first, then races that reward quick answers.

Can two children play together?

Yes. In Maths Duel two children can race on one screen, each with their own answer keys.

What about taking away and times tables?

Math Race also has taking away and times tables, and our math games page has more for every grade.
