Games for 3 year olds

No sign-up ยท made for kids 4โ€“10

At three, children can tap, drag and listen, and they love to finish something by themselves. These free games are the gentlest on Tiny Players: sort chunky shapes into the toy box, find the animal that says moo, finish a four-piece jigsaw or drive a little tractor round the farm. Nothing is scary, there's no timer to beat and a wrong tap just gets a friendly try-again. They play in the browser with no sign-up and nothing to buy.

About these games

Our picks and what they practise

Three-year-olds are learning big and small, counting to five and matching things that go together. Every game here shows what to do with a picture or a friendly animal host instead of words, and the first level is easy on purpose: Jigsaw Puzzle starts with four big pieces, Count the Fish with one to five fish that stay nearly still, and Big or Small with two of the same animal.

Our games are made for ages 4 to 10, so a three-year-old will enjoy them most with a grown-up nearby. Play one game together for a few minutes, cheer the wins, and let them pick the next one.

4 quick answers

What are good free online games for 3 year olds?

Shape Sorter, Animal Sounds, Jigsaw Puzzle, Count the Fish and Big or Small are free on Tiny Players and gentle enough for three-year-olds: no reading, no timer and first levels that are easy on purpose. They play in the browser on a tablet, phone or computer with no sign-up and nothing to buy.

Can a 3 year old play without reading?

Yes. These games show what to do with pictures and a friendly animal host, and several say the words out loud, so no reading is needed.

How long should a 3 year old play?

Health experts suggest no more than about an hour of screen time a day for children aged 2 to 5, ideally with a grown-up. A few minutes of one game at a time is plenty.

What about games for 2 or 4 year olds?

For younger children, our toddler games page has the very gentlest games, with one action to learn. For four-year-olds, see our games for 4 year olds.
