โบ
These free diya drawings are for children to colour, or copy into a drawing book for Diwali. The easy diya has very thick lines for ages 3 to 5. After that come a beautiful decorated diya, three creative diyas (one round, one like a lotus, one like a leaf), a peacock diya, two hands holding a diya, a diya thali of five lamps and a detailed diya mandala for older children. Each one is a black and white A4 page, ready to download as a PDF or print.

How do I draw an easy diya?
Draw a wide smile shape for the bowl and close it with a flat oval on top. Add a small teardrop flame in the middle, then decorate the bowl with dots and lines.
What is a diya?
A diya is a small lamp, usually made of clay, with oil and a cotton wick. Families light rows of diyas at Diwali to fill their homes with light.
Which colours should I use for a diya?
Try orange and brown for the clay, yellow and orange for the flame, and bright pink, blue and green for the patterns. Oil pastels make the flame glow.
