About each game

A line on every game here

  • Dino Dig Brush the sand to dig up cute dinosaur bones, then put them on the stand to build a friendly dinosaur that comes alive.
  • Dinosaur Game Run with Dex the baby dino through the jungle, the desert, snowy hills, a volcano island and a starry night.

About these games

Our picks and what they practise

Most children go through a dinosaur phase somewhere between four and eight, and it is a good one to lean into: the names are long and fun to say, the facts are real, and the pictures come with a bit of drama. The games on this page are built for that age. None of them need much reading — a four-year-old can rub the sand off a fossil or feed the T-Rex, while a seven-year-old will want the running game and the skeleton puzzle.

They are quick, too. A round of Dinosaur Game lasts as long as your dinosaur does, and the colouring maker is over when the picture looks right. There are no pop-ups and nothing to sign up for, and they all work with a finger on a tablet as well as with a mouse.

Our picks

What they practise

  • Fine motor control — rubbing, dragging and tapping small targets
  • Sequencing and body parts in the skeleton puzzle
  • Sorting by a rule (who eats what) and quick decisions in the runner
  • Visual memory with the egg pairs
  • Dinosaur names and a few real facts, said out loud as they play

Questions parents ask

4 quick answers

Is there anything to buy?

No — no pop-ups and no sign-up. Nothing is locked behind a purchase.

What age are they for?

Roughly four to nine. Dino Dig suits the youngest; Dinosaur Game is better from about six.

Do they work on an iPad or phone?

Yes. All six play in the browser with touch — no download or app store needed. Dinosaur Game also has keyboard controls on a computer.

Are the dinosaurs scary?

No. They are friendly cartoon dinosaurs — the T-Rex in the runner is the one you play as, not the one chasing you.
